Nike Air Yeezy Launch @ Sole What? Gardens
We woke up to a hot Saturday so our plan to put on that Nike sweater would be plain ridiculous. We put on an oversized DJ Fuzz x Xrossfade tee, jeans and Nike Free Woven Premium 5.0 kicks and headed to the Gardens, Mid Valley for Nike Air Yeezy’s launch. When we got there, we saw people standing outside the much-loved streetwear shop, Sole What?, waiting for the ballot to start.
Seen at the launch were members from Pop Shuvit, Joe Flizzow, DJ Fuzz and DJ Nesh, along with media members, friends and sneaker freaks giving Sole What? that festive touch. Yup, Nike was giving out 14 pairs of Nike Air Yeezy in Zen Grey/LT Charcoal, each pair valued at RM689.
A stool was brought forward to the entrance with the crowd standing outside awaiting to have their name called. Winners’ names were drawn by Nike Malaysia’s Country Marketing Manager Raymond Liew, Sole What? owner Edwin Choong, hip hop’s very own Joe Flizzow and the legendary DJ Nesh. It was picked according to shoe sizes. Those who were picked were instant happy bunnies, while the rest left disappointed. It was a game of luck and it’s always unpredictable. Better luck next time yo.
As of now, there won’t be any shipping for Nike Air Yeezy to Malaysia that we know of, so go hit your luck up on eBay - last we checked, the price has gone up to USD2000! Cop it.
The Nike Air Yeezy launch was held on 18 April at Sole What? Gardens. Head over to www.nike.com.my to check out more dope wear. It’s Nike Summerdelic at Mid Valley Megamall Concourse this Thursday from 6.30pm onwards. We’ll see you there and don’t forget to rock your Nikes!
