Nevermind The Hipsters…

The local Chinese scene’s best kept secret is also the “sickest” hardcore act JUICE has had the pleasure of meeting. Deng Deng Etc is a raw and “real” punk band living on the edge of poverty, so if you’re thinking this is another Bunkface or One Buck Short, you’re effin’ wrong! And now, to cement their notoriety, Deng Deng Etc are releasing their debut EP tomorrow…

Chances are, if you’ve been to past Street Roar Festivals or gigs at the defunct Kaki Corner in Cheras, you would’ve come across this chaotic trio. But if you haven’t seen Deng Deng Etc live yet, this might be your final opportunity as frontman Hoong could be facing a possible jail sentence soon. No sh!t!

Want to know the reason(s) why? Just come for the show and ask him yourself if you’ve got the balls….

Deng Deng Etc will be launching their debut EP Wanton Of The Proletariat this Saturday at Findars Space @ Annexe, Central Market. Wanton of The Proletariat features 6 short and aggressive songs about the wretchedness of society that’ll make you pee acid and headbang til you bleed.

The band will be supported by the anti-poseur brigade of rojak garage dweebs Ben’s Bitches, noise folker Azmyl Yunor (with special guest Yandsen on sax) and lethargy police Flirting With Sleep.

Admission is RM15, show starts at 8pm.

Date: Saturday, April 18, 2009
