Neubeats pres. Lah Lah Land 1st Anniversary @ Mist

Turning a year old is always a big celebration and it was no different for well known fashion blogshop and boutique Lah Lah Land and my goodness did they celebrate with a bang! They gathered round the peeps from Neubeats, some fans and some friends to throw a 1st anniversary party at Mist with the theme ‘Neon Jungle Kids’. With a dress code as ambiguous as that, JUICE was pretty sure to catch some exciting outfits but as soon as I arrived, I sure as hell wasn’t expecting something as far out as this.

I was puzzled to find a large group of animals and The Flintstones characters hanging around the entrance. What was everyone waiting for? It turns out there was a makeup artist in hand and all these cool cats were waiting to get their faces painted. Bananas!

Mist is quite a big club, as you enter you realise that the organizers really spared no cost in doing up the club into a “night safari” as they said they would. The place had black UV lights, blown up animals, and literally dried leaves all over the club floor. I wonder who was going to do the cleaning up after?

Clubkid Ethan Chu aka iLLKid, Neubeats and Ewere the zookeepers of the night, entertaining the animals and churning out the most random of tracks together. Check this, in the space of 2 hours these were some of the tracks that they played: Pete Bjorn & Yorn’s ‘Young Folks’, The Killer’s ‘Human’, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s ‘Date With The Night’ and even Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’!

Even though Mist is a huge club, it was a good effort from Neubeats and Lah Lah Land in filling up the spaces with the grade A decor and party goers who really went all out. We’re hoping there will be more to come in the future! Happy Birthday Lah Lah Land, we will be looking forward to your 2nd birthday!
