Naomi Osaka just announced on Twitter that she’s pregnant!

Alongside the pregnancy announcement, she mentioned that she will be coming back to the world of tennis at the Australian Open 2024.

“I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom, haha,'” she wrote in her Tweet.

Osaka is pregnant with her long-time boyfriend, Cordae. The tennis player and American rapper have been dating for 4 years now.

“2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me and I hope I’ll see you guys in the next one cause I’ll be at Aus 2024. Love you all infinitely,” she added.

At the end of her note, she wrote that she doesn’t think that “there’s a perfectly correct path to take in life” but she has always felt that if you move forward with good intentions you’ll find your way eventually.

Prior to her pregnancy, Osaka has faced mental health challenges that led her to withdrawing from certain competitions and refusing to partake in press conferences after matches. Osaka has struggled with depression after winning the 2018 US Open against Serena Williams, where the crowd booed Osaka relentlessly.

Instead of getting to celebrate her first grand slam win, Osaka was faced with having to deal with winning something people thought she shouldn’t have.

Despite her struggles, she is the first Asian player to achieve the No. 1 singles ranking in the world, according to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

Osaka has won two Australian Open championships and two US Open crowns, making her a four-time Grand Slam singles champion.
