Thirsty for JUICE content? Quench your cravings on our Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp

Music Conference ASIA is designed to be a two-tier conference – one part music festival, one part educational conference. We announced the lineup for Global Sound System, the official music festival for MCAsia, and we’ve got the lowdown on the conference mentors and presenters.

Music Conference ASIA 2013
Date Saturday 27 April 2013
Venue Auditorium, Sama – Sama Hotel, KL International Airport

Ableton 9 Live – Introduction & Showcase
Presenter Rueben Samuel, Mile High Sounds
Time 2.00pm

The first workshop on the programme is Ableton Master Class, presented by Rueben Samuel, an Ableton Certified Trainer from Mile High Sounds. Rueben will be showcasing the Albeton Live 9 music software with its Session View feature. Whether you’re a blossoming DJ or just a regular music enthusiast wanting to know how your favourite sounds come together, this is the workshop for you. Since Rueben has been using the Live programme since 2005 and has experience in performing live, you know you’re learning from the best.

Ableton Max For Live and Ableton Push – Introduction & Showcase
Presenter Tom Cosm, the Ableton Guru, Ableton
Time 2.40pm

Ever wondered how Madeon made his fame with his ‘Pop Culture’ mashup video? Now you can do the same (let us know when you become famous!). Ableton’s Push is the hardware controller designed to take live electronic jamming to the next level by offering a hands-on approach to all the elements of tune creation and performance. If we’re speaking Greek to you, make your way to the workshop to see it for yourself. Tom will be creating a tune without even touching his computer, which we sound creation novices find quite impressive.

Tom will also cover the Max for Live toolkit to build your own devices that can be used with Ableton Push.

Keynote Interview: The Global Dance Music Phenomenon
Panel Judge Jules
Time 3.20pm

With experience being behind the decks since 1987, Judge Jules is a DJ in 2 senses, he’s as much a DJ in clubs as he is on a radio show. While he has since stopped DJing on Radio 1, his long-running night at Ibiza, Judgement Nights, remains a mainstay on the party isle. With festivals such as Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, Global Gathering, and Creamfields to his name, Jules is no stranger to huge-scale outdoor events.

You can also check out our interview with him here.

If you’re a festival ticket holder, you’re entitled to all three events, but be sure to be early as it’s on first come first serve basis. To purchase tickets, you can click here. Alternatively, book your spot at the conference by clicking here
