M’sians Take On A Coffee-Themed ASMR Challenge. Who Will Come Out On Top?

To celebrate the launch of their limited edition Christmas series, local coffee brand Chek Hup challenged us to… a coffee-themed ASMR challenge!

For the challenge, pairs of friends had to use Chek Hup Gourmet Coffee to come up with ear-tingling ASMR snippets, for the judges’ listening pleasure. Did the storytelling pair of Iylia and Riyal come out on top? Or did the creative musical duo of Tammy and Wan Xiang take the title?

Iylia and Riyal started off with a relatable tale of making a satisfying cup of coffee on a Monday morning, but ended up terrifying the judges!

Riyal: “Oh yeahhh, that’s how it’s done. Now, you’re ready to conquer the day.”

Brenda: “If there’s one word to describe how I feel right now… Terrified.”

 

Meanwhile, Tammy and Wan Xiang opted to do an ASMR rendition of Papa Americano.

Tammy & Wan Xiang: *shaking coffee beans to the beat of the song*

Brenda: “So off beat.”

Tammy: “Papa Americano.” *pours coffee beans on the table*

Brenda: “Did they spill something?”

 

Then, Iylia and Riyal suddenly transitioned from a horror story to… the Macarena???

Riyal: “Let the terror begin!”

Iylia: *bangs cups and rubs coffee satchets*

Riyal: “Oh my god, who’s knocking at the door? Macarena, macarena, macarena, ehhhhh Macarena, ay!”

 

But it’s okay, ’cause Tammy and Wan Xiang were just as confusing to the judges with their random sounds

Tammy & Wan Xiang: *making random noises by poking sachets and shaking coffee beans*

Brenda: “I don’t think they understood the assignment. Is there a buzzer?”

 

Through the challenge, both pairs were thrilled to get the chance to taste Chek Hup’s delicious gourmet coffee
