Motorcycle Culture Is What Inspired Adidas Originals x NEIGHBORHOOD Collab

Continuing their collaborative project, adidas Originals and revered Japanese streetwear label NEIGHBORHOOD joined forces for a new capsule collection this season. Bringing NEIGHBORHOOD founder Shinsuke Takazawa’s unparalleled design perspective to a range of street level sportswear pieces, the range presents pure 3-stripes design in Takazawa’s familiar monochrome aesthetic, in strictly premium constructions.

The range takes inspiration from the raw electric energy of the squads of the city of Shinsengumi combined with technical paying tribute to NEIGHBORHOOD’s and adidas Originals DNA.

Besides shoes, there are a selection of T-shirts, sweats, track pants and outerwear that are elevated through razor-sharp assemblage, a motif emblem that Japanese samurais uphold.

It’s also heavily inspired by motorcycle culture as the headline pieces ‘Riders Track Jacket’ is a modern interpretation of NEIGHBORHOOD’s iconic ‘Thunderbolt’ jacket. The shorts also pays homage to functional motorcycle gear through quilted embroidered details and D-ring hardware.

Its blacked-out aesthetic combines perfectly with Primeknit constructions that comes in premium suede overlays and co-branded details to create understated approaches to straightforward 3-stripes designs.
