Limkokwing University Debuts ‘Date Night’ Collection At London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is no child’s play for fresh and young designers who are looking for a platform to get their work recognised by well-respected fashion editors, stylists, and the most prominent fashion bloggers. So for Limkokwing University to be given that platform amongst iconic designers and brands like Burberry, Erdem, and Julien Macdonald proves that this university isn’t just your average fashion school.

This year is the third time that Limkokwing’s very own student fashion brand, Limkokwing Fashion Club, makes an appearance at London Fashion week as the sole Asian and African university invited. Their Autumn/Winter ’18 collection themed ‘Date Night’ makes use of the university’s culturally diverse identity, reflecting a romantic modern mood that long distance lovers have.

LKW Fashion Club showcased this third collection at the Freemasons Hall on Sunday on 18 February. All pieces were under the creative direction of Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, Vice President of Brand, Creativity and Talent Development of the university along with a strong, and uber talented group of aspiring designers who are students and alumni of the university. Together, they have curated a collection that draws in designs, patterns, and slim silhouettes from old ideas sourced from Borneo, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Iran, Botswana, Sierra Leone and Swaziland.

It’s a major step towards growing into an internationally competent designer for these students who’ve had this huge opportunity to be apart of the team; this most definitely takes our country to a whole new level within the fashion industry.
