Klang Valley skaters rejoice! The legendary skatepark in Mont Kiara is finally reopened to the public once more after a two-year long hiatus.

After closing its doors in August 2019 for renovations, the skatepark has relaunched with a fresh, new look – one made possible with the help of both government and private sector players.

Renamed the Kiara SkatePark, the organisers say the refurbishment was done in partnership with the Youth & Sports Ministry and their sponsors including street-culture incubator/apparel company Vans & telco operator U Mobile.

The launch was held over the past weekend, followed by an exclusive first try at the course for invited skaters and BMX riders.

Earlier this month, we were given an early behind-the-scenes look into the construction of large portions of the refurbishment, via the lens of old heads Kayuh BMX & The Ramp Master. They were appointed by Vans Malaysia to spearhead the project, and by all early accounts, the skaters have no complaints.

You can visit their official Instagram for the full operating hours. Happy skating!
