The iconic Scottish instrumental rockers, who have a neck for odd song and album titles, are back with their playful artcore. Just 3 out of 10 songs on Hardcore go beyond 6 minutes, making this one of their most accessible works to date.

With producer Paul Savage (who helmed their debut Young Team), Mogwai’s 7th studio album reinvigorates the band on their fuzzed out, spaced out, euphoric cosmic jam. Album closer ‘You’re Lionel Richie’ is the ultimate slow burner (and weirdest-titled song) with a 10-second rest midway before the whirlwind of distorted guitars and drums come in.
