This would be perhaps one of the rare events where you see industry professionals and music enthusiasts in the same room together. The inaugural Music Conference Asia (M.C.Asia) Music Factory “The Beginning” was held at the grounds of KL Life Centre last Saturday.
The crowd was seen spilling into the conference ground as early as 4pm (early for Malaysian timing) just for the two music monitoring workshops presented by Canadian Producer, DJ and Label Owner, DJ Preach and World’s Top 100 DJ, Marcel Woods from the Netherlands.
Participants didn’t come home empty handed of course as they received first hand introduction and guidance from Preach and Marcel about the professional world of music production. At the end of the workshop, participants were given the opportunity to get up close and personal with Preach and Marcel to explore related topics through random group discussion.
All work and no play makes one a dull man so the organisers sure knew how to throw a party to reward everyone. Headliners Preach and Marcel Words took centre stage together with Nordic DJ 2008, Marcus Schossow supported by local talents Affiq and Funko Munky. Participants turned party goers were treated to a wide range of infectious high-energy beats from raw vocals, nu-trance, progressive techno to electronically fused cross-genres music specially brewed by the DJs.
To contribute towards the growth of the music community, the event organisers Global Sound Masters will be contributing RM2 to the GSM Music Fund for every ticket sold.
The second chapter of M.C.Asia Music Factory ‘The Creation’ will be happening on the 23rd January 2010. The first chapter ‘The Beginning’ was held on the 21st November 2009 at KL Life Centre. Check out our gallery for what went down that day.
