One of Astro’s signature Chinese programmes, Battleground is back in year 2010 to give street dancers an opportunity to shine. Renowned dancer Marcus “Epic-phlave” Tucker is leading 2 warm up dance workshops At Sunway Pyramid and Hard Rock Cafe Penang respectively to get peeps in the mood for Battleground 2010 street dance competition. Battleground 2010 is themed “No Boundaries, No Limit” and draws no line for any age or races. From jazz dance to break dance or even tecktonik; got that passion? You’re in. So, are you ready rock the dance floor?
Street dance rookies got lucky this year because Marcus Tucker is in town to share his dance knowledge in the pre-audition workshops for the upcoming Battleground 2010. The owner and founder of the leading hip-hop and Anti-Violence program in America, “Face da Phlave Entertainment”; will be leading the workshops aimed to push local street dance to an international level and share this healthy activity with people of all ages. What’s even better is that you and your crew get to crash in for free, exchange insights and refine your skills. Don’t keep your fist closed, pass down some tips to the beginners!
If you’re interested to attend the workshops by Marcus, also one of the judges for Battleground 2010, make sure you step up early to Sunway Pyramid Main Entrance on 14 August to get a spot as it is a first come first serve basis. The workshop starts from 1pm to 4pm. Good news for Penang street dancers! Marcus is also leading a workshop at Hard Rock Hotel in Penang on 15 August from 1pm to 4pm. Also first come first basis, and also free! That’s the next best thing that comes after your grandmother’s advice.
