Man With Spine Tumour Requests Birthday Cake For Disabled Mother Instead Of Financial Aid
With endless lockdowns resulting in economic hardship, many have lost their source of income due to the pandemic which has rallied Malaysians to help those in need.
Recently, Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng took to his Twitter to share the story of a man who asked him for a birthday cake for his mother who happens to be a person with disabilities (PwD) instead of financial or essential aid.
Received a different request yesterday.
Instead of asking for for aid/supplies, this person was asking if i could help him buy a cake for his mother, kebetulan today is her birthday.
I asked if he wanted anything else, he just wanted to buy a cake for the mother, nothing else

Earlier this year, Shin was diagnosed with a spine tumour which resulted in him depending on crutches since part of his muscles shrunk.
Before MCO, Shin and his elder brother worked to support their small family but it came to an end when Shin fell ill and MCO was implemented again.
“He wanted to do something for his mother, but he couldn’t afford it due to his situation.
“That’s why he requested help,” said Lim.
Lim ordered a birthday cake for Shin and his family to celebrate their mother’s special day.
“We’ve been living in confinement for almost a month and it’s sad that not everyone can find pockets of happiness during this trying time.
“I hope my small gift helps,” Lim tweeted.
