It’s like G-Force when Diplo and Switch get together on this Major Lazer project. The wonderboys have teamed up to produce a wicked dancehall record called Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do. The pair have collabrated before, pairing up for MIA’s ‘Paper Planes’ from her Kala album, which eventually found its way onto the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. Big. They duo are on their Major Lazer Summer ’09 Tour from 12 July to 3 September, and we’re waiting with baited breath for the announcement of their Malaysia stop. JUICE hearts them much!

Major Lazer’s album Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do sees Diplo and Switch rope in some of dancehall’s biggest acts including Vybz Kartel, Ms Thing, Mr Vegas, Santigold, Turbulence, Jah Dan, Amanda Blank, T.O.K, Prince Zimboo, Leftside and Nina Sky. Even Afro Jack and Italian fidget duo Crookers get to stamp their magic on to the production.

The album was recorded at the legendary Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica and released under the label partnership between Downtown Records and Diplo’s Mad Decent label. You can check out Major Lazer’s videos for ‘Hold the Line’ and ‘Zumbie’ here and here.
