It’s hard to decide what to love more about remixes – the unexpected take on a track or the clever puns for track names. With Lazerproof, the latest remix album from Major Lazer (aka Diplo and Switch) and La Roux, its both. This mixtape comes as no surprise, as Diplo’s done this before with MIA and Santogold, taking his unique concepts and creativity and executing it masterfully.

In typical Diplo form, this mixtape is a sample of the emerging music trends, seamlessly integrating dancehall beats and electro vocals. Heavy on the dub, the groove and samples from Drake, Gucci Mane, Rusko and Amanda Blank to name a few, the most surprising aspect is that who knew underneath all that synth and electro, that La Roux’s Elly Jackson’s vocals are quite appeasing to the ears. Overall it’s just a really fun time.
