Artistic hub overlooking the Straits….
To the benefit of this unassuming city, many Johor Bahru pre-war locations have been left untouched, Lost Malaya among them. An art gallery-cum-lounge housed within a double-storey colonial bungalow overlooking the Tebrau Straits, Lost Malaysia was founded by husband-and-wife team Chris Thompson and Alisa Lamlertkittikul. Art and photo exhibitions by local talent are held regularly in the gallery (including that of Chris’ who is a professional photographer who’s worked for The Amazing Race Asia and Biggest Loser Asia), while the lounge upstairs offers a sunset backdrop to beer drinking. Complementing the art house vibe is the JOHO Concept Store. Headquarters for a group of young, local designers JOHO is also a hub for lomo and fixie enthusiasts.
