It seems as though Kevin Parker had an unadulterated taste of the mainstream with ‘Daffodils’, and he’s now lusting for more. But even the slight pop tinge of this eight-minute epic isn’t enough to detract from the relative strength of the track as a whole. In true Tame Impala fashion, Parker’s still got the experimental nous to try the unconventional. But even their filtered sonic blend sounds more cohesive than what most other proto-psychedelic bands can even dream of doing. Tame Impala has taken the genre up a notch.
