19-year-old South London rapper Novelist doesn’t trust many girls, as he elucidates via single ‘Girls Around The World’, but it seems he has found that special someone who he can put his faith in. In a confluence of grime delivery and r’n’b sensibility, the rapper captures all the relatable things that you want the person you’re dating to say – it’s all reassuring and romantic. Here’s a gem lyric: “I’m not gonna lie, if I don’t text back, you’re not gonna die,” which is unlike the vulnerability of one rapper du jour’s popular line, “As soon as you see the text, reply me.”
