Alternative rockers Nervous Electroids are a small band that plays at intimate Merdekaraya gigs and even busks at Publika. Not to detract attention (or maybe not) from them, but one of the guitarists is none other than Azrul from Jaggfuzzbeats, just so you know. Though currently they’ve only released three songs on SoundCloud, all three are solid songs indeed – and ‘What If (I Don’t Care)’ is the latest and best release from the five-piece so far. The musicality is absolutely reminiscent of the late ‘90s alternative and grunge scene, especially that of the newly reunited Veruca Salt. The track begins with sedated guitar and apathetic drawling that would detonate with every onslaught of power riffs. Lead singer Jiher has the distinct vocal styling that truly catapults us back to that era of nostalgia, which while sadly over-romanticised, Nervous Electroids still sound quite promising even if they’re mining from that decade.
