We were caught off guard when Mary J. Blige first appeared on a Disclosure’s rework of their own track ‘F For You‘ — we don’t think anyone was expecting the soul songstress to be working with a couple of young Brit electroheads. Now though, it seems like she’s planning to delve further into that end of the sonic spectrum, with the lead single off her upcoming album, The London Sessions, being a smooth electronic extravaganza produced by Disclosure (and co-written by Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes!) to great success. Vocally, it’s a standard performance from Blige; solid, but nothing we aren’t used to. But when coupled with Disclosure’s flawless work, the song becomes a little more special than your run-of-the-mill r’n’b choon.
