Here’s a track by Devon Seven that is decidedly different from what we’ve come to expect of the half-Malaysian Dane. Produced by Niels Kirk – whose recent EP Skeep saw him collaborating with fellow Dane Mendoza – and inspired by her Los Angeles trip (of which Niels, too, was coincidentally experiencing), ‘Sun-Kissed by the Eternal Girl’ expunges the melancholic pop associated with her native region in favour of a sound that’s emblematic of summery LA. In her words, an airy song that “should give one a sense of floating in the water or soaring above the clouds.”
