London-based artiste Andreya Triana is more than just the run-of-the-mill soul singer who pines for her lover as she caresses a vintage microphone; she’s worked with the likes of Flying Lotus and fellow Ninja Tunes label mate Bonobo on a number of well-received remixes as well as originals. Her latest lovestruck track ‘That’s Alright With Me‘ has been taken under YAHNA‘s influence, who revealed to us in a feature that his ideal DJ set would consist of — among many other artistes — Bonobo and the ghost of Miles Davis, so Andreya should be the perfect candidate for a YAHNA track. Mastered by Akhyla’s papa bear, Mustaqim Arifin aka VMPRMYTH, YAHNA lifts Andreya’s vocals from the pop-soul tune and gives it a new home among washes of oriental instruments. Sure, it didn’t win the remix competition that spurred YAHNA to rework the track in the very first place, but our regional bias says it deserves far more plays than the winning entry.
