KL’s hardest working beatmaker, Adam Kasturi, has just dropped another new track – ‘Hamil’. Ostensibly a departure from the music syntax and tropes that are clearly identifiable as his sound, ‘Hamil’ is stripped of a drum beat much like his score for visual artist Zulamran Hilmi’s Perspective — a series of Instagram travel videos. Here, he opts for atmospherics that borrow from noise and Actress’ experimental side – the result is a track that’s slower and more onerous to digest, but worth the journey from beginning to end.
