On Wednesday I saw this exotic lettuce-wearing female loitering outside Pavilion KL. She was holding a sign that read “Let Vegetarians Grow On You”. It was a protest by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia asking people to go vegetarian. Sadly the vegetable girl and attending media were forced by security to leave after 45 minutes. Boo. But she (Ashley Fruno) did get to say this before she made life a leaf and um, left. “We’re asking people to turn over a new leaf and go vegetarian. Today’s protest was a fun and sexy way to draw attention to a very serious message.
