The Lemonheads’ latest effort was leaked on private bittorrent trackers. Some groups never seem to die like Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins, Supergrass, Ash, the list goes on – even if there is only one consistent member. The Lemonheads’ newest album Varshons will be officially released on 23 June 2009. The album also features guests not normally associated with singing such as Liv Tyler and Kate Moss.
Produced by Butthole Surfers’ Gibby Haynes, Varshons is an album of covers featuring tracks like Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’ (penned by Linda Perry). Other artists covered include Leonard Cohen, Wire and G.G Ailin. Guest performances include Liv Tyler who lends her vocals on Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye’ and model Kate Moss on Arling & Cameron’s ‘Dirty Robot’.
