Laneway Festival Singapore ’17
With the recent announcement that the artiste formerly known as Chet Faker will now be performing under his birth name Nick Murphy, the Australian electronic soul musician will return to Laneway Festival Singapore ’17 as his new self and a new sound. Joining him are Norwegian waifish electropop singer AURORA, rising r’n’b star NAO, rapper Mick Jenkins, and Zambian hidden gem, artiste Sampa The Great. This year will see a range of electronic producers taking stage. There’s Canadian duo Bob Moses, venerable hip hop producer Clams Casino, Mr Carmack, UK’s Tourist, multidisciplinary maestro Tycho (who performs live with a band) as well as a DJ set by Floating Points. Furthermore on the band round up, expect the Kathleen Hanna-fronted band The Julie Ruin, Canadian punkers White Lung, experimental English band Glass Animals, indie quintet Gangs of Youth, and Aussie dance rock group Jagwar Ma.
Regionally, Singapore will be showcasing their talent pool by way of alt r’n’b songstress Sam Rui and post rock band T-Rex. Then, pop folk duo Stars and Rabbit and indietronica duo Bottlesmoker are the Indonesian representatives for the festival next year.
More acts will be announced soon, so stay tuned.
