The city is awash with Ladies Nights, although few are deserving of the title. Piss poured in a plastic cup not fit to piss in does not make a soiree for sophisticated sisters? And sure, we admit that would have cut it when we were 18 but now…. Well, because we’re worth it and (to their credit some clubs know this, venues like Space and Upstairs at The Loft (read about their Ladies Night, No Man’s Land here) have adopted a more sophisticated approach to this club / bar standard. Yet arguably the Ladies Night that really knows how to satisfy a lady is Twenty-One on Changkat Bukit Bintang’s Lipstick Gossip. Their heavily anticipated event happens for only the second time this Thursday 30 July and with limited invites going out, there’s no better place we can think of for a girl and her gal pals to be. Here’s why you just have to be there.
The first Lipstick Gossip event went down late June. Feteing a different class of females with chi-chi cocktails, lip smackingly delicious nibbles from the restaurant, a DJ setlist of sexy house music and a heap of treats: massages, manicures, numerology, palm reading, tarot reading and hand painted body art and waiters unencumbered by (much) clothing – and all complimentary we might add – Lipstick Gossip has set the benchmark for the most indulgent Ladies Night in the city.
The impending sequel returns Thursday 30 July. Kicking its heels up at a civilised hour, doors get whisked open for the soiree at 7pm to 10pm and just as it did before, award winning mixologist Dean Reardon will be whipping up killer cocktails, canapes will come courtesy of the bar’s famed kitchen, the bar staff will be looking exquisite and the soundtrack will be sultry to say the least. In addition, they will still be laying on the manicures, reflexology, tarot reading, numerology, palm reading and hand-crafted body art, and because good things don’t always in small packages, some surprise entertainment best revealed only on the night. Wahey!
Space is limited to the 1st 100 RSVPs only. And if the first installment let you lounge with 2 girlfriends, this second affair is Sex And The City inspired. What good is Carrie without her Samatha, Charlotte and Miranda, so it’s a 3 friends limit. All we can say is snap to it gyals, this is going to be one lavish girlie night out! We’ve already got out unreasonably high heels and sophisticated little black number picked out in anticipation.
