Knight Castle 2009 @ Bukit Tinggi

Bringing back the medieval times into the big dance event organised by the good people who brought you Massive Worldwide 2008, Pentagon Matrix and Maison dishes us with Knight Castle 2009. Held at nostalgic French Village, the weekend was celebrating the past and present musical creations with some of the top DJs in the world. Bringing back the rave atmosphere that we have loved and missed, Knight Castle 2009 relived that for all true dance music fans who attended. The event was held at chilly Bukit Tinggi up in Pahang on a Saturday.

The night of knighthood kicked off with our very own Malaysian JUICE DJ Quest 2007 winner DJ Nikki with her brand of tech and trance. It was followed by Indonesia’s female DJ Shary which heated things up. There is nothing better than seeing empowering ladies on the decks! They opened the show with energetic tempo to our ears, feets and eyes. Kapow!

Then the men took over the decks. DJ Woody Van Eyden from the Netherlands kept feet moving to his eclectic mix of tunes. Woody’s energy was mind-blowing with his trance Balearic and blend of funky grooves. It swept the mob off their feet. It was an amazing, emotional journey.

Knight Castle 2009 gathered over 5,000 dance music lovers to the cool and invigorating setting of Bukit Tinggi. Across the course of the night, it only got better with Sander Van Doom, another renowned DJ to the dance music scene from the Netherlands. DJ Sander stormed the night with big tracks like ‘Roundabout’ and ‘The Bass’ which conquered the dance floor.

Sander overwhelmed peeps on the dance floor high on the brilliant diversity of dance music that night. The pulse was running high indefinitely. The night ended with DJ Scott Alert from Australia to a celebration towards a piercing climax. It was unimaginable.

As they say, it was an experiential music festival at Bukit Tinggi. We need to witness more of these quality dance events like how it used to. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next year!
