What is JUICE’s Best Of?

If you remember last year, we launched The Best of 2024, a homegrown celebration that highlighted the crème de la crème in music, lifestyle, and fashion. It was our newfound ritual of honouring artists who shape the culture and inviting readers to vote, argue, defend, and uplift the names they believe deserve the spotlight.

That formula worked so well that we decided to return with something louder, sharper, and even more unapologetically JUICE.

Our commitment to celebrating the icons, the misfits, the makers, and the wildcards of Malaysian culture has only grown. This year has been packed with sonic brilliance, fashion risks that paid off, underground shows that left ears ringing, and cultural moments that made us laugh, blush, or spiral.

So it only feels right to close the year by handing the mic back to the people who witnessed it all with us.

What sets JUICE’s Best Of 2025 apart from the usual popularity contests is its devotion to inclusivity. We do not pit mainstream giants against underground warriors. We put them on the same playing field because both sides drive the culture forward in their own chaotic ways.

Our nominees are not just visible faces, they’re boundary-pushers who tear down old rules, carve new lanes, and embody our key mission to uplift emerging, alternative, and genre bending voices across Malaysia. Yup, Best Of is back after last year’s hiatus—we were busy arguing if shoegaze counts as mainstream now.
