Jamie Foxx Will Play Mike Tyson in a New Biographical Limited Series
Jamie Foxx is set to play boxing legend Mike Tyson in a new limited series called Tyson. Antoine Fuqua is on board to direct and produce with Martin Scorsese as executive producer, Variety reported.
The series is written by Collin Preston and is said to span Tyson’s whole life and tell the incredible story of how he became the youngest heavyweight champion at just 20 years old.
“I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time,” Tyson said in a statement. “With the recent launch of Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my return to the ring, now feels like the perfect moment.” Legends Only League is a recently launched league by Tyson that gives old stars of all sports a chance to compete again.
“I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains,” he said.
For now, the series is not attached to any network or streaming service. Apart from Fuqua and Scorsese, Jamie Foxx, Tyson and his wife Kiki are also executive producers.
