As one of China’s top acts, Beijing indie rock quartet Queen Sea Big Shark have made it big on the international stage. With the release of their debut album in 2007 (under Modern Sky), the band got noticed by Converse China and subsequently contributed an exclusive song and music video, ‘Let’s Play’, to its website. With a sound that recreates the New York indie scene of the early ’80s, the band combines tight rhythms with loud and raunchy guitars.

Having performed at numerous music festivals in China, QSBS finally made it to SXSW this year where they rocked the stage in red skinnys. Chipmunk or robot voices are common in most of the band’s songs, thanks to frontgirl Fu Han’s fond experimentations with the voice machine. QSBS’ latest album Wave is available now.
