International Young Music Entrepreneur
The photo above was taken for 2007’s IYME with Jason Lo representing Malaysia. It’s a search by the British Council for one young Malaysian creating ripples in the music industry, to be sent on an all-expenses-paid trip to the UK. This year’s applications for the International Young Music Entrepreneur (IYME) 2009 was sent out in January and the British Council has shortlisted the Malaysian nominees. Come 18 March, they will reveal who will be representing Malaysia to the UK this June. Past Malaysian winners include Jason Lo in 2007 and Hardesh Singh in 2008. This year’s finalists were Yuri Wong, Edwin Raj, Anthony Yap, Altimet, Joe Flizzow, Blink, Genervie Kam Shi Ling and Adly Syairi Ramly. But JUICE knows who won…. The UK trip will be fully sponsored by the British Council and will be in the running for the overall IYME title and £7,500 (RM39,000) cash prize. There will be nine other international finalists for this entrepreneur award. Come 18 March, the big reveal will be held at Palate Palette. But really, JUICE got first hand news on who the winner is… and it is our dear Blink! Hooray! Congrats and big ups to Blink from JUICE!
