Hej! IKEA Malaysia Now Serves Plant-Based Meals With an Affordable Price
These last couple of years have seen the rise of plant-based meals with Nestle Malaysia even opening its first plant-based factory in ASEAN, in Shah Alam earlier this year. Whether you are an animal lover, an environmental advocate, or want to live your healthiest life, being plant-based is the one underlying thread that seems to compel most of us.
As the name suggests, a plant-based diet revolves around plant foods with zero animal products. But don’t get it confused with veganism, as some people tend to eat plant-based meals in rotation with their normal meals.
With this lifestyle being more popular nowadays – thanks to A-listers, these types of meals have been made more accessible.
Recently, IKEA Malaysia introduced a series of plant-based options and best of all, it’s at an affordable price! The new menu reflects the company’s efforts to make healthy and sustainable food more affordable and desirable.
According to SAYS, the meals are priced between RM4.90 and RM12.90, there are seven options to choose from, namely plant-based burger, plant-based schnitzel, plant-based fishless fingers, veggie balls tomato pasta, veggie ball wrap, scrambled egg croissant with plant-based pieces, and salads.
Take a look:
Other than the plant-based burger – which is only available until 31 October – all other items will remain on the menu even after this month.
From 16 to 31 Oct, you can get the ‘World Food Day Combo’ which includes the Plant-Based Schnitzel & Mushroom Soup priced at only RM12.90. For every portion of the combo sold, RM2.00 will be channelled to HOPE Worldwide Malaysia to fund food distribution programmes.
So, if you’re planning to eat good and do good, IKEA is the place to be!
