Often times you catch some artists doing their thang and you go, “come on, I can do better than that!”. Then you formed a little band, share your stuffs online, got yourself some fans and suddenly you realize you can actually make it big. But where do you start? Homegrown Space figured it’s about time they give back to the community by helping the local art scene to cultivate and expand. They provide a platform for artists from all walks of life (musicians, poets, film-makers; you name it) to showcase and promote their works, skills and talents. The best part is, the space is available for free. Want a chance to be heard? You asked for it, you got it.
All you’ve got to do is simply drop them an e-mail at [email protected] telling them what you would like to do at Homegrown Space (eg. metal gig, music workshop, poem reciting, etc), a link to your website and promotional pictures or a sample or your work. Set a date for your showcase, then blast it out everywhere; your Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc. You can even print out the flyers and slap them on top of some loan sharks’ stickers outdoors, I dare you.
Last but not least, get your freak on and give your best for the show at Homegrown Space! They will also do a write-up after the event to promote you guys, so make sure you holla back and do the same for Homegrown Space.
