The flames of Targaryen drama continue to burn as production kicks off for the highly anticipated third season of HBO’s House of the Dragon.

Filming is now underway in the United Kingdom for the next chapter of the Game of Thrones prequel, which will span eight episodes.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series delves into the history of House Targaryen, unfolding 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. Fans can expect the return of familiar faces, including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, and many more.

Joining the cast for Season 3 are Sons of Anarchy star Tommy Flanagan as Ser Roderick Dustin and Fantastic Beasts actor Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly. Previously announced newcomer James Norton will take on the role of Ormund Hightower.

Season 3 will be helmed by a talented team of directors, including Clare Kilner, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Andrij Parekh, and Loni Peristere. The show continues under the leadership of co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer Ryan Condal, alongside George R.R. Martin and a team of seasoned producers.
