Hockey: Too Fake

Hockey consisted of 2 LA dudes who gigged a lot, signed a development deal with Columbia, and recorded with Talking Heads keyboardist Jerry Harrison before relocating and doubling up in size. Now based in Portland, Oregon, the band is being chased high and low by record exec weasels in a bid to cash into their truly original dance songs. Described in their Myspace as new wave and soul, Hockey is all set to take on the game with their debut album Mind Chaos. And from the sound of their first single ‘Too Fake’, it seems that Hockey has the heart and the soul. Imagine The Strokes clashing with The Rapture in a Michael Jackson music video and you’re close to the fun offered here.
