With plans to hold 2 parties back to back up north in Penang and in downtown KL, H-Artistry was on a mission to top off its recent ‘The Global Art Of Mixing‘ party that had 2500 screaming revellers. Could the series pull it off again? You bet!
H-Artistry pulled out the works for an all-rounded sensory experience. The decor for each location was understated and chic, with visuals on plasma screens over beautifully lit bars where yummy signature drinks, Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Ginger, Hennessy Berry and Hennessy Citrus. The stellar lineup included Ad Bangers, Joe Flizzow and Sona One of Kartel Records, and electronic band Speaker Junkies from California.
Outside in the Mix Zone, a professional DJ gave partygoers a crash course on mixing and music production over the Mix Master console. If you were into mixing liquids instead of beats, you could learn how to concoct any 4 of H-Artistry‘s signature drinks at the Mixing Bar. For the artistically inclined, the Digital Light Art FX booth let guests design their very own desktop wallpapers using special light technology and video projections.
At both QEII and Zouk, Joe Flizzow kick-started the night with his single ‘President’ followed by his protege and one of KL’s budding hip hop artists Sona One. Everyone was dancing and singing along to ‘Tear It Up’, one of the tracks on Flizzow’s President album. The crowd cheered for more when the Kartel alumni were done and Southern Cali headliners Speaker Junkies took to the stage. Duo Summer Daniels and DJ Tempo have opened for greats like Paul Oakenfold, LMFAO and Snoop Dogg with their instantly recognisable, genre-bending trance, house, breakbeat and electro mixes. After the high octane set by Speaker Junkies, everyone was treated to a surprise! We sure didn’t see a special collaboration coming; with Summer Daniels on vocals, DJ Tempo on the decks, and Joe Flizzow and Sona One spitting rhymes, the performance was truly the highlight of the night.
Always a crowd favourite, Ad Bangers went into full swing after with their selection of er, banging music. DJs Blink (LapSap) and Didjital (Bass Agents) did what they do best, and sent the crowd into a frenzy with their massive beats, creating an excellent end to a jam-packed night. The huge crowds that flocked to QEII and Zouk to show love to H-Artistry only proved that the series got its ‘Global Art Of Mixing’ formula right yet again. On to the next one?
