Heineken Wants You To Throw A Party

Ever wanted to put on your own private party with your favourite DJ or bands playing, or stage an exhibition with cutting edge visuals and sound? Heineken Green Space is a bi-monthly series of bespoke events that gives you an opportunity to throw your dream music event for you and 100 of your friends, and TAG are the first recipients of Heineken’s generosity.  The Malaysian indie scenesters will show the way when they launch the series on Sunday August 16 at neighbourhood brasserie Bijou in Mont Kiara. Now find out how you can host your own party after the jump.

Applications to host the bi-monthly parties have already started flooding in. With a dedicated Green Space served by Heineken module on the Heineken website  at www.heineken.com.my/music active from August 1 and a dedicated email address [email protected], applying couldn’t be easier. The most creative and exciting ideas will then be selected and the applicants offered the choice to host their own Green Space served by Heineken.

“Green Space served by Heineken sees the brand moving into a completely new area: entertainment created by and for our consumers.” explains Jasmine Foong, Heineken Senior Brand Manager. “In this exciting development we are giving control of the event format, the content and the programming to some of Heineken’s most loyal and creative music fans.”

For Twilight Actiongirl, the collective of DJs that has pioneered indie rock and electronica in Kuala Lumpur for the last five years, Green Space served by Heineken Music is a chance for these scene-generators – DJs Bunga, Ribut 10:59, Chaseylain and Xu – to get back to their roots and rediscover the DIY feel of their early days in Bar Amber.

“We wanted to have something that was really relaxing, something that we’d just enjoy being part of,” says Ribut 10:59 of their plans for their Green Space served by Heineken Music on August 16. “We thought we’d do a Sunday afternoon so no one would have to rush like on a Friday or Saturday night. Have a few Heineken beers, some music and food. Areas where people can pick up instruments and jam, or just play board games, pick up a book. Listen to the bands play. We might even let people come up and spin their own tunes.”

Heineken pledges to support the selected winners’ party plans and guide you every step of the way to make sure that your party comes off exactly the way you envision it. Artwork, invitations and an event company to take care of planning and executing your night will ensure that you’ll be able to enjoy your Green Space served by Heineken as much as your friends. The only thing you’ll need to do – other than come up with some incredible ideas – is supply 100 friends who will want to share the amazing experience of your Green Space served by Heineken with you.

If you’re on the invite list, go catch the Twilight Actiongirl’s lazy Sunday afternoon session on August 16. It will include DJ sets, open mic spots, a cassette tape lottery, board games and plenty of opportunity to relax amongst friends over ice-cold Heineken beers.
