On 19th May 2018, Prince Harry married the girl of his dreams, Meghan Markle, a Hollywood actress famed for her role in Suits. As the most highly anticipated wedding televised since Prince William and Kate walked down the isle, not only in England but all around the world, people from India to Hawaii were tuning in to watch the event live.

However, the main show stopper at the Royal Wedding would be the staple hats worn by their women guests. It is part of the customs at most royal events that a hat or fascinator should be worn on one’s head. The guests who attended Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s celebration of love last Saturday did not fail to show off their fancy–and some cases, weird–looking hats. Let’s take a look at some of them:

This Queen of Talk rocked a ’70s inspired pastel pink hat with a combination of flowers and feathers which matched her outfit and those seriously-understated sunnies. Always classy, never trashy! Well done, Oprah!

Princess Diana’s niece wore an emerald green fascinator by Philip Treacy. It somehow looks like chopsticks pierced in a curl of twister fries, and then dyed green, don’t you think?

The Duchess of Cornwall’s hat was one of the most talked about items at the Royal Wedding. She wore a huge icy pink feather hat that was bigger than her head. It kinda looks like a fan or the top of a flower to me, which is good news for giant mutant bees and bad news for Cammy.

Lady Edwina wore a beautiful mid-length polka dotted dress but the hat that she wore didn’t really match her gorgeous outfit. It kinda looked like she stuck a plain pink plate on her head. Did she run out of ideas?

Amal, who is George Clooney’s wife, matched her dress with a mustard-colour sculptured hat. The hat appeared to be similar to a Mexican hat, and it got me thinking about Mexican food. Yummy! Nevertheless, credits to her for having such an eye for fashion because it really did go beautifully with her whole outfit.

Actress, singer, producer, and former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra also donned a Philip Treacy creation that went well with her cocktail-length dress.

This time at Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s wedding, the famous sisters disappointed the fashion community and went for a subtle headwear compared to during Prince William and Kate’s wedding. From looking like Cinderella’s stepsisters to downplaying their flamboyance and now looking like plain Janes, it was a big let down for Twitterverse that was looking forward to their outrageous hats.

This was them at Will and Kate’s wedding:

And during Harry and Meghan’s wedding:
