Hard Rock Cafe Penang Officially Opens

After providing you a sneak peak into the newly opened Hard Rock Cafe Penang, the 2nd Hard Rock Cafe in Malaysia (after KL’s original located at the Concorde on Jalan Sultan Ismail), officially opened its doors last weekend with a launch that was officiated by the Emperor of Penang himself (Chief Minister sounds too geeky to us), Yang Amat Berhormat Tuan Lim Guan Eng.

The new Cafe is located in the Hard Rock Hotel Penang, which recently opened on Penang’s Batu Feringghi stretch. It all kicked off with a convoy of Harley Davidson motorcycles, which escorted the Emperor to the entrance of the hotel. Fire artists and a mixed cultural drum performance followed after which the Emperor joined YAB Tan Sri Syed Yusof Syed Nasir and Mr John Primmer, the General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Penang, in a ceremonious smashing of guitars! Rokkkk!

Live performances by Ella, Zainal Abidin and The Groove Company entertained guests throughout the night. Located at the Ground Floor of the hotel, the Hard Rock Cafe Penang is the new place to jam. The cafe seats 130 persons and has a stage for live performances (of course) and a Rock Shop which sells Hard Rock’s latest and limited edition merchandise.

The Hard Rock Cafe Penang opens from 11am till 2am from Sunday to Thursday and 11am till 2.30am daily. Enjoy everyday Rockin’ Hours from 11am till 10pm and daily band performance from 10.30pm till 2.30am. For reservations at Hard Rock Cafe Penang, contact 04 886 8050.
