Molek FMHanger S/S 2011 Launch Party @ Ecoba
After our street style-themed ‘Hot in the City’ party at Hex last November for the A/W10 launch, it’s pretty evident that we at Hanger love partying just as much as we love fashion! This time around it was no different as we had another party to celebrate the launch of our S/S2011 issue!
Hosted by local eco label Chic Yamada and lovely brand ambassador Megan Tan of 8TV Quickie, our sundown “Garden Party” coincided with Hanger’s “Eco Issue”. But alas, the weather didn’t hold up (we totally forgot to call a bomoh) and the rain poured as soon as the party started at 5pm. Thankfully, we have real troopers for Hanger fans and the party continued indoors where the Absolut cocktails were served. Inside, we spotted Magie Abang Saufi, musician Melissa Indot and Twinkies DJ Tunku Nadia of PopMuseSic, Hanger guest columnist Jiman Casablancas and Lim Kok Kean of TAG, Vincent Paul Yong, and Nini Ramlan to name a few. While more guests poured in during cocktail-hour, Sarah Chan and Joyce “Kinky Blue Fairy” Wong of SalahWrong had the crowds dancing and singing along to their tracks. Mad props to the girls for playing Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ too!
After a good hour of mingling, the Chic Yamada show begun with a er, special surprise on the runway as soon as Davern and Jee Hoe of House This?! took the decks. Among the models strutting the runway wearing Chic Yamada’s Pyschedelic/Boho Spring and Classical Summer collection 2011 was Editorial Director Muna Noor, Ledwina In of the JUICE and Hanger sales team, Editors of MSN Entertainment and MSN Lifestyle Reta Lee and Elfie Jane and er, myself debuting on the catwalk. We hope we did justice on the runway to Chic Yamada’s beautiful clothes! If we didn’t, we hope you enjoyed the half nekkid boys guarding the runway…
Thanks to Kiehl’s , HTC, Evisu and Kenzo we also had a lovely swag bag of prizes to be given away that night. Hanger guests were subjected to a pop quiz to win prizes from Kiehl’s and Evisu! Two hampers from Kiehl’s were given away based on questions on a video we played Pharrell Williams video by Kiehl’s while winners of the Evisu frames had to answer simple questions about Hanger mag on stage. Congrats to Syatirah Safran for winning the “Ultimate Flower Child” title which saw her floral get up winning a Flower by Kenzo perfume set. Last but not least, 3 HTC phones were given away to the the 3 Most Stylish winners of the night. Congrats to runner ups Min Luna and Cris Yong, they won the the HTC Aria while the Best Dressed of the night went to Ming of Bombshell Hair Studio who won the HTC 7 Mozart.
Throughout the entire event we also had 6 Levi’s Style Scouts going around Ecoba to snap stylish peeps holding a blackboard with their best motivational statement to win RM300 vouchers from Levi’s. Much thanks to style scouts Vincent Paul Yong, Nini Ramlan, Jiman Casablancas and Magie Abang Saufi. Big thanks to everyone who came to the party. See you at the A/W2011 party!
