Haiyo! Amazon Customers Pre-Order PS5 But Receive Cat Food, Rice & Other Random Things Instead
According to The Sun, Amazon UK is under fire after furious PS5 customers say they received the wrong orders on launch day – including cat food, toilet paper, a foot massager and other random household items.
This appears to be a pretty widespread issue, and seemingly, is only affecting Amazon UK orders. In most of these cases, the boxes don’t even have the signature Amazon-branded tape and have been resealed with clear tape – indicating that the orders might be stolen.
Amazon-users are also saying that some orders are marked as “delivered” even though they have not received the PS5 – some even caught the delivery man stopping by their houses for about 10 minutes and immediately leaving without handing over or dropping off any package.
Can confirm this happened to me today with @AmazonUK. The most bizarre thing ever. Driver shows up, looks in van, looks at phone and he’s off. Marked as delivered followed.

Besides this man, many upset customers took to Twitter to complain about the blunder, take a look:
Happy #PS5 day everyone. Tried to document our one’s unveiling, but Amazon have tricked us with an unsolicited air fryer instead (after giving delivery password). Anyone else had this problem today? pic.twitter.com/99IUSzSJUU

The exact same thing happened to me, I got a George Foreman grill!
Looked like the box had been opened at some point aswell.
Now I can’t get a replacement because there is no stock anywhere in the UK even though I pre-ordered it 2 months in advance! pic.twitter.com/Cmg3BzVhvg— Sam Felts (@Sam_Felts) November 20, 2020

For now, Amazon UK has responded with a statement saying, “We’re all about making our customers happy, and that hasn’t happened for a small proportion of these orders. We’re really sorry about that and are investigating exactly what’s happened. We’re reaching out to every customer who’s had a problem and made us aware so we can put it right. Anyone who has had an issue with any order can contact our customer services team for help.”
Welp, let’s hope they get their PlayStations back! The anticipation to play these upcoming buzz-worthy PS5 games must be killing them!
