Guinness Promises “March” Fun: St. Patrick’s Day Celebration(s)

St. Patrick’s day is round the corner, by why celebrate it for just one day when you can do it all month long? Guinness is hosting a whole bunch of parties throughout the month of March all over the region for you to party on with friends and strangers, who will hopefully eventually become your friends.

Guinness kicked off their St. Patrick’s celebrations on 27 February at Malones, Pavilion. Approximately 250 guests attended the launch, including members of the media, trade partners, and Guest of Honour, Shane Stevens, Deputy Head of Mission from the Embassy of Ireland! The event was just a small taste of the fun and laughter that’s been planned for the month, which makes us really excited to see what else is in store! How much fun can one have? As much as you like, thanks to Guinness.

That’s not all. This year, Malaysia will play host to Guinness’ largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in all of Asia! The celebration will last a whole weekend, so don’t worry about it being over too soon. This year’s celebrations center around the theme “Celebrate the laughter side of life”, and this is the 6th year that Guinness is hosting this internationally renowned celebration. They definitely know how to show us the meaning of a good time!

On 16 March, Changkat Bukit Bintang will be the place to be when the party starts. From 6pm to 12am, there will buskers, entertaining games and hilarious comedy tours all there to make you laugh till you bust a gut. Laugh it up at Havana Bar & Grill, The Social and Reggae Bar.

Then 17 March will see an even bigger, busier and better celebrations as the streets of Changkat will be closed off again specially for the celebrations! It will be transformed into an iconic St. Patrick’s street party from 6pm till late. Keeping true to the theme,  there will also be a Comedy Court that showcases some of the most hysterical people in our region.

Guinness is also looking to do something really special this year by making St. Patrick’s the biggest, best and most enjoyable St. Patrick’s celebration ever. By rallying thousands of friends and fans, Guinness is attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for ‘The Friendliest Day Of The Year. The attempt will be made possible when 1 million people make a pledge online at www.facebook.com/guinnessmalaysia and www.stpatricks.com.my!

The party will also be brought to all of you in Ipoh, Penang, Melaka, Johor, and Pahang. These are the dates:

10 March 2012 – Upper Penang Road, Penang
23 March 2012 – Mount Austin, Johor Bharu
24 March 2012 – Ipoh Garden East, Ipoh
31 March 2012 – Jonker Street, Melaka
