SPORTS AND BEER
The people of Bangsar are not usually kind to new bars and restaurants, because the people living in the area are mostly of the older variety and have developed that habit of sticking with what they’re more familiar with. So if you can make it past 2 years in Bangsar, you’re golden. Recently hitting that 2 year mark was GridIron. Located along Telawi2, GridIron is hard to miss. Just listen out for the cheers of sports fans. The sports theme is taken to a whole new level, being one of the few dedicated sports bars that feature a 360 degree of sports viewing. Meaning whichever way you’re facing in the bar, you’re going to be facing a television screen. Contrary to what you might be thinking, the bar doesn’t just screen football. With that many screens, they could showcase every sport in the world, but the key sports they prefer to focus on are football (obviously), rugby, and cricket. The interior is a cosy modernised concept that includes comfy sofas that’ll have you thinking you’re in an Austin Powers movie. The sophisticated décor is not what you’d expect from a sports bar, and that’s what GridIron brings to the table.

CLIENTELE Older yuppies to matured gentlemen. Though it has all the makings of a joint for early 20s college kids.

DRINKS Like all sports bars, the focus is mainly on beers. There’s a house pouring of wine, but we’d suggest sticking with the beers that come really cheap during happy hour.

HAPPY HOURS Daily from opening till 8pm, and all day on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. A pint of Tiger for RM14, and a pint of Guinness or Kilkenny for RM16. A variety of shots go for RM15 each.

EATS The menu consists of mostly Western bar grub. Our favourites are the Peri Peri Chicken and Steak and Fries.

DRESS CODE Casual. There really isn’t any dress code, but you’d probably want to keep to look nice, cause it’s the kind of place you could bring someone on a casual date.

PARKING You can try your best finding parking along the streets of Telawi, but we’d suggest parking at the parking lot below the medan selera.
