Global Sound System: Official Music Festival for Music Conference ASIA Final Lineup Announcement
With April’s biggest electronic dance music festival just weeks away, the official festival for Music Conference ASIA, Global Sound System, has released its final lineup. Bad news for fans of John O’Callaghan, the Irish DJ is currently not in any state to fly long haul for up to at least 3 months due to strict orders from doctors, as he had recently underwent an operation that has kept him homebound since. Abiding by the official statement from John’s management, fans need not worry because it seems that Music Conference ASIA has plans for John’s return sometime in the offing.
There’s good news as well though, with the cancellation of John O’Callaghan, Music Conference ASIA has officially announced additional acts to their final lineup for Global Sound System. Fresh off closing the main stage at A State of Trance 600 in Den Bosch, Netherlands, DJ-producer, Mr. Skyfire himself — Shogun — will return for a Malaysian comeback after last year’s. Andrew Chen aka Shogun is the first Asian DJ and producer to be signed to S107/Armada. Whether it is remixing for the world’s number one DJ, Armin van Buuren or for the famous Nadia Ali, Shogun’s productions have gained him full support from biggest names in trance history including Paul Van Dyk, Gareth Emery and Above & Beyond. Having been ranked #68 on DJ Mag Top 100 Poll 2012, Shogun has cemented his place as one of the most influential and biggest trance and progressive acts today.
Because no good show is without its own hypeman, adding up to the list is the official festival host, MC Stretch. He was the voice for Tiësto record breaking DVDs Tiësto in Concert, had appeared alongside Armin van Buuren during Armin Only World Tour, and was featured at Ferry Corsten’s Masquerade party in the Ahoy, Rotterdam. Not just appreciated by the world’s best DJs, over the years MC Stretch has made multiple appearances at some of the biggest raves around — Tomorrowland, Dance Valley, Creamfields, Stereosonic Australia, Mysteryland and soon, our very own home pride Global Sound System, of course. All prepped to share the stage with other headliners this year, MC Stretch is ready to take on Malaysia with a bang.
