Gamers Gather For A Day Of Positive Play With MyGameOn & SAYS Tech

Last Saturday, ATO Gaming Café in TTDI turned into a hub for friendly competition, casual matches, and open conversations about gaming culture.

The event, called ‘Rileks Je, Takyah Toksik Lepak Session’, was put together by MyGameOn and SAYS Tech as part of their ongoing push for healthier gaming spaces.

Running from noon to evening, the lepak session offered plenty of variety. Gamers drifted between console stations featuring titles like Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Overcooked, while others tried their luck at Daytona and Gunblade NY in the retro arcade corner.

A tabletop zone, set up with the help of Quantum Nexus, introduced card game enthusiasts to Altered TCG and Magic: The Gathering. For those more interested in browsing than button-mashing, a small retro bazaar carried consoles, collectibles, and comics.

On the main stage, the conversations were just as lively. Esports caster and streamer Tashbunny shared her perspective as a woman navigating the gaming scene, while psychiatrist and USM lecturer Dr Khadijah Hasanah Abang Abdullah spoke about mental health in esports. Attendees also joined in through the “Community Confessions” segment, trading stories about the highs and lows of online play.

Of course, no gaming event would be complete without some competition. The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang fun match crowned its champions with a prize of 5,000 in-game diamonds.

Throughout the day, participants earned stamps from each activity zone, which they later exchanged for goodie bags stocked with sponsor items from UniPin and Trapo. A lucky draw courtesy of Logitech closed the evening, sending a few players home with premium gear.

“MyGameOn’s goal was simple,” said editor Hazril Md Nor. “To remind people that gaming should connect us, not divide us.”

With sponsors and partners ranging from Logitech to Quantum Nexus, the Lepak Session felt less like a tournament and more like a neighbourhood hangout, a reminder that sometimes the best games are the ones played together, face to face!
