The retro sportswear look is donned when you are a football or sports enthusiast, or if you’re a fan of music and you’d like to emulate the look of Damon Albarn a la peak Britpop cultural milieu. Or Alex Turner – be it when he was a young lad in Arctic Monkeys or as a suave sex god as his current incarnation with The Last Shadow Puppets. Alternatively in a more local context, you may want to channel the men of Bittersweet.
Fred Perry’s the Sports Authentic range is looking to revive that aesthetic. The classic ringer tee has the brand’s iconic laurel wreath on its shoulder details and of course, the B50 Laurel Wreath badge is stitched on the chest. The track jackets are made of polyester and cotton tricot that were specially created to recreate the original ’80s sample from their archives.
