Italian fashion house Fendi and American workwear brand Red Wing Shoes have come together to elevate the latter’s Classic 6-inch Moc Toe boot—in a manner befitting both the workshop and the runway.

It’s a collaboration we honestly didn’t see coming, but it’s a pleasant surprise indeed.

From the workshop to the runway

The boots made their debut at Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2025 runway show last year, and now you can finally get a pair of your own. The boots are also significant, since they’re part of Kim Jones’ final collection for Fendi, before he stepped down as artistic director of womenswear, haute couture, and fur in October 2024. Jones is credited with reinventing Fendi’s ready-to-wear and couture collections.

Available in two colours—beige and brown—the boots (or “leather booties” as Fendi calls them) use Red Wing’s iconic 6-inch Classic Moc-Toe silhouette as a base. The things that set it apart from regular Red Wing boots are the ultra-premium Fendi leather uppers and hand-woven ‘FF’ monograms you often see from the Italian fashion house.

The “FF” monogram on the leather uppers takes roughly five hours for artisans working in the Tuscany Fendi factory to hand-weave. That’s for one individual boot—imagine the labour costs.

After Fendi has given the boots their signature touch, the materials are then sent back to America, where Red Wing cobblers put the boots together by hand. With every single Red Wing x Fendi boot, up to 30 shoemaking artisans are involved.

It’s absolutely no surprise, then, that these boots cost RM6,900 on Fendi’s official website.
