Face the Violent Truth of Bullying at Silk and Strings
“AS LONG AS YOU LIVE IN MY HOUSE, YOU WILL LISTEN TO ME!!”
“BOYS DON’T CRY!”
These are just some of the lovely sentiments we’ve heard time and time again growing up – and yet, such damaging statements are still commonplace today.
In support of Befrienders KL, Silk & Strings – the Truth of Bullying is a multidisciplinary play aiming to highlight these uncomfortable truths in our society. Featuring talents Neo Ann Na as Karen, Perassath Servai as Mohan, and Ashvinder Kaur as Shanti, the ambitious play aims to explore “themes such as high school bullying, cyber bullying, religious bullying, suicide, and more.”
When a suicide case turns into a national tragedy, six individuals are forced to confront the consequences of their actions and motives. Silk & Strings is an honest and sometimes painful exploration of the human condition that asks us: how far can the human mind, body, and soul go before it snaps?
A lil sneak peek of what to expect at the play:
The play runs from 2 to 5 November and 9 to 12 November.
