Experience the Art of Chalkboard Writing with Japanese Artist Chalkboy
Anyone who frequents hipster coffee joints will be familiar with the chalkboard drawings that often accompany the interiors of such cafes. It’s no surprise that Japanese ‘chalk graphic’ artist CHALKBOY got his start by drawing on the chalkboards at cafes he used to work at. What started as a simple hobby bloomed into a full-fledged career, and now the artist himself will be making his way to Malaysian shores to share his work.
Gather round in Free art space at Lot 10 Shopping Centre from 21 July to 22 August ‘17 to check out Hand-Written World, a solo exhibition by CHALKBOY. To celebrate the start of the exhibition, the venue will be holding a launch reception on 22 July with the artist himself, and you can witness him in action as he carries out a live drawing on the spot. If you like what you see, you can even get your own customised notebook with your name written out CHALKBOY-style.
Check out the itinerary for the day below:
3pm – 3.15pm: Mini-talk session with CHALKBOY
3.15pm – 3.30pm: Live drawing performance

The opening reception will be held until 7pm.
